CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES- DECEMBER 2014

By 2:57 PM

Christmas came and went and I tried to present the spirit and fun that the holiday season is about. This is my favorite time of the year, with precious moments spent with my family and friends. This resulted in many pictures of places I visited during this festive season.

Second Baptist Church in Houston presented their annual delightful Christmas train displays.  Landscapes of snow-covered villages, with buildings, mountains and tunnels were presented in the main atrium of the church's Woodway campus. Their annual "Really, Really Big Christmas Show" was worth the visit. My kids loved the show for its colorful costumes, amazing acrobatic performances and plenty of music.

It has become our tradition to go ice skating in December. Aerodrome Houston ice skating rink is only 10 minutes drive from my house so I got together with my friends, put on festive Holiday hats and we had so much fun!

The highlight of December was my trip to Europe. Europe is always magical, but it is especially so during the holidays, when streets and shops twinkle with holiday light displays. My favorite thing to do is stroll through the elegant shops and Christmas markets, sip hot Gluhwein and look at happy people full of holiday spirit. This time, I visited the Netherlands and Italy. Two of my childhood friends live there, so I had a chance to spend time with them and their families.

The holiday season was not complete without my little munchkins decorating the Christmas tree, decorating a gingerbread house and holiday cookies, and gift sharing. Good memories that will last forever!
