The stars were out in force at this year's Space City Comic Con, held July 24-26 at NRG Center.  With guest appearances from some of TV's best loved sci-fi stars, it was a sight to see.  The Power Rangers were there, as well as Gil Gerard and Felix Silla from Buck Rogers, but the headliners were the main cast of Star Trek Voyager, and non other than Captain James T. Kirk himself, William Shatner!  Cosplayers were everywhere and while there were plenty of amateurs, there were some real pros in the house.  The 501st Legion were in attendance in all their Star Wars gear, and Mr. Spock as well.  Everyone will miss the beloved Leonard Nimoy, but his twin was there and he was amazing.     

Not only were there stars to see and have photos taken with, but there were also video and board games and plenty of merchandise to purchase, from comics to gaming accessories and costumes.  MechCorps was onsite and, if you have never jumped in a cockpit pod of a 70-ton Battlemech, you haven't lived!  Up to six players can duke it out in a free-for-all with lasers, missiles and machineguns.  When the pods aren't on the road at conventions, you can find them at their headquarters in Northwest Houston. Of the less than 150 pods still known to exist in the world, MechCorps' collection of 16 is one of the best around, and they're in our own backyard!

Whether you're in to cosplay, comics, sci-fi games or just people-watching, Space City had it all and was an interstellar hit!

On June 6, 2015 Ella Promotions was celebrating its 7th Anniversary with the most exuberant event in Houston - “White Nights.”
Back on June 6, 2008 they organized their first event, “Crazy Hat Party,” at the Galleria Sheraton Suites. Now seven years later, Ella Promotions has organized over 40 unique events, bringing the community together with unforgettable and entertaining experiences.
This time, the event took place at Lumen Night Club which always attracts sophisticated locals of big H-town. I absolutely love the cosy atmosphere of this club, its elegant interior design and cutting edge lights and sound.
The event started at 8 pm in its sister club Crimson which is located next door to Lumen. Guests were greeted with complimentary drinks by RWB Vodka, hors d'oeuvres and some awards and prizes as a part of the celebration. The event was followed by interactive entertainment and dancing.
