FASHION HOUSTON FIVE- FASHION EVENT HELD ON 11/18/2014-11/21/2014
It was a
week filled with fashion, clothes and designers for the 5th annual
Audi Fashion Houston Five designer runway event. Held at the Wortham Theater
Center during the week of November 18-21st, local and emerging
designers presented their new collections for the season. It was the biggest
fashion event in Houston TX, with the event hosting thousands of adoring
fashionistas, celebrities, critics and more during its 4-nights of runway shows
and incredible after parties, culminating in the ultimate fashion experience in
the city.
Each night
had at least five different designers, including notable names like Naeem Khan,
Tibi and Rebecca Minkoff, in addition to lots of fresh new talent emerging on
the fashion scene. The rest of the talent included: Alexis Monsanto, Grungy
Gentleman, Little Back Dress Designer, Jonathan Blake, Sameera Faridi, The Art
Institute of Houston Fashion Designers, Rubin Singer, M.C.L. By Matthew
Campbell Laurenza, Rene Ruiz, Bibhu Mohapatra, Jio’zei Reyes, Rolando Santana,
Rami Salamoun and Chloe Dao.

While all
of these designers had amazing collections that definitely turned heads, my
personal favorites were Naeem Khan, Rene Ruiz and Rami Salamoun. Naeem Khan’s
clothes have been showcased on numerous A-list names like Jennifer Lopez, Katy
Perry, Taylor Swift and countless others, with each of his items draping their
bodies as if it were made just for them. His collection of impeccably cut
dresses, sophisticated gowns and chic separates stunned the show. Lots of beads
and metallic colors rocked the runway during his show, while all of his dresses
flowed beautifully on each of the models.

hails from Miami, FL and his designs depict a delicate balance between old-word
charm and craftsmanship and modern glamour. He does so by blending Miami’s
sultry sexiness with elegance and grace. The Cuban designer has an eye for amazing
high-quality fabrics and has a talent for tailoring luxurious pieces full of
sophisticated designs. All of evening gowns were breathtakingly beautiful
beyond belief. Wearing one would make you feel as if you were a princess!
Rami
Salamoun is a Lebanese, designer who many discovered for the first time at this
year’s show. With a couture shop located in Beirut, he’s definitely one
designer to keep your eye on! He showcased stunning couture gowns that were
filled with glitz and glamour. He also presented a few men’s suits that were
anything but traditional! Just like each of the gowns, his suits featured loads
of glitz with a bit of edge mixed in.
While all
of the shows were beyond amazing, another highlight of the week was getting to
walk the red carpet upon arrival, which made a girl feel like a bona-fide celebrity! All I can say is that I can’t wait until
next year’s event, which should once again prove to be a stylish affair.
