FASHION TRENDS RECAP FOR PARIS FASHION WEEK SPRING / SUMMER 2015 COLLECTION
When it comes to the most
important yearly fashion events, Paris Fashion Week is one of them. This is the
reason why the season’s most important designer collections enjoy the spotlight
on the catwalks and come to show which are the latest trends and fashion. Let’s
recap the trends for this season from some of the most important fashion
designers that attended Paris Fashion Week 2015 with their Spring/Summer 2015
collections.
Chanel came around with a
brand new concept for their clothes, namely that of feminism and the power of
women. Top models, such as Victoria’s Secret’s angel Gisele Bundchen and others
held powerful messages on the catwalk, while dressed in very colorful coats and
jackets as a reminder of the feminism and flower power movement back in the
60’s and 70’s. The 60’s and 70’s trend with the Saturday night fever and hippie
deluxe are leitmotifs in other important designer collections, making this a
basic trend for the Spring/Summer 2015 season. Valentino is a good example in
this sense, because its collection is about psychedelic geometry that has the
70’s taste and feel to it. However, apart from Chanel, who embraced eclectic
colors, Valentino shows more sobriety and seriousness.

With its flower patterns on
collar shirts and the hippie flares trousers, Louis Vuitton has again
highlighted the 70’s influence upon the fashion trends for the season of Spring/Summer
2015. According to Vogue Paris, one of the most important trend ideas that reoccurred
at the Paris Fashion Week this year is contrast. I believe it is the contrast
between the old and the new, small and oversized, eclectic colors and
conservative grays. However, glamour is still in and I cannot deny it. Ralph
Lauren added a bit of Safari-style glamour to the trends with the lovely khakis
and sexy cuts. However, glamour doesn’t end here. One of the collection trends
that reflects Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant’s collection is the Saturday
night fever, with the ultra-short, lurex effects and shiny metallic accents,
just perfect for a disco party.

A short recap of the Paris Fashion Week would
be a look back into the 70’s feminism, powerful colors and big contrasts with
an addition of khakis and grays, neat geometrical patterns and a bit of sparkle
just to make it 70’s to the end.
