FASHION TRENDS FOR FALL / WINTER 2014-2015, AS SEEN ON THE RUNWAY
Fall/ Winter 2014-2015 Fashion Trend #1: Leather and Fur Chic
It is not new
that our wardrobe is built around key style pieces that can always offer us the
chance to look fashionable and confident.
The famous
designers in the thought and mood of colder days tend to turn to the timeless
fabrics that are not only chic but also provide us with warm and a pleasant
feeling when wearing them. Fur and leather are some of these prominent
materials used in their collections from the runway. Leather and fur
comes both in the traditional colors this fall, as well as in vibrant colors.
For inspiration, check out runway
options presented by Marc Jacobs, Thakoon, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Libertine, J. Mendel, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Akris and others.

Fall/ Winter 2014-2015 Fashion Trend #2: Checks and Plaids
This is one of
the most significant design comebacks of the season. Inspired by a flannel
shirt, designers such as Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Victoria Beckham, Rodarte,
Thakoon created a boho look
with checks and plaids pattern for dresses, shirts and coats. While obviously
practical by staying warm, they have that cool street chic look in their
designs.

Trend #3: Punk- Rock Glam
Punk rock fashion has been
around since the 1980’s. It was first introduced as an intentional protest
against overly pretentious mainstream music. Over the years, punk-rock trend
has evolved. This season, many designers combined a punk-rock elements such as
zippers, belts, studs in their clothing with a classic tailored look to create
that glam-rock vibe.

Trend #4: The 50's Style
Vintage and dramatic. Most pieces
are very sweet and some are styled in a cool manner with accessories such as
dark sunglasses and head wraps. Feminine
shapes and unique silhouettes are what create the majority of these looks.
Flare and ruffled skirts, classic suit jackets were featured on the runway this
season. Some great examples of this type of looks may be found in the
fashion shows of Giambattista Valli, Monique Lhuillier, Moschino and
others.
